HOW CAN I INSTALL THE MAP E32 THAT I DOWNLOADED FROM INTERNET?

FIRST IT IS NECESSARY TO INSTALL MAPSOURCE ON YOUR COMPUTER, If you have an installing disk from mapsource, put it in your computer and install it.
NEXT YOU HAVE TO UPGRADE MAPSOURCE TO THE LATEST VERSION; Once it has been installed, open it and go to menu: “HELP, SEARCH FOR UPGRADE” Upgrade your version of mapsource, otherwise the map will not work. Finally follow the instructions from installing assistant.

WHAT IS THE GPS I.D.?

The GPS I.D. is a control number from the GPS software and it has 10 digits. Look out! Its Not the serial number.
You will require an unlock code so you can see and use the map in mapsource as well as in the GPS.
It is necessary for you to provide us with your GPS I.D. so we can generate your unlock code.

HOW CAN I GET MY GPS I.D.?

There are two ways you can get your GPS I.D.

GETTING YOUR GPS I.D. THROUGH MAPSOURCE
1. Hook up your GPS to your PC and turn it on
2. Open mapsource and go to UTILITY menu
3. Select GET UNIT I.D.
4. Copy the 10 digit number that will appear in the GPS I.D. square

1. Turn your GPS on
2. Select configuration menu
3. Select SYSTEM
4. Select ABOUT where you will see the GPS I.D.

HANDHELD MODELS (SERIES: etrex, 60, 76, Rino, Colorado, etc.)
1. Turn your GPS on
2. Select configuration menu
3. Select SYSTEM
4. Press the MENU key
5. Select SOFTWARE VERSION
6. You will see the GPS I.D.

I HAVE THE ACTIVATION CODE, BUT HOW CAN I UNLOCK THE MAP E32 IN MAPSOURCE?

Use the “UNLOCK WIZARD” from mapsource to unlock the map with your 25 digit number.

WHAT IS AUTO-ROUTE?

Auto-route is a function that some maps have; which generates a route automatically through the web of streets and roads within the map, and when we tell the GPS to go to this route, it will show us our path to follow, making it the shortest or fastest way. The MAP E32 is topographic and does not have auto-routing, so it will generate a straight line from point A to point B when we press “GO TO”

WHAT IS THE TRIP COMPUTER IN MY GPS?

The trip computer provides us a wide variety of useful data when we travel long distances. It indicates current speed, average speed, maximum speed, mileage, height, trip time, movement time and many other useful statistics for navigation.

CAN I UPLOAD ONE OR SEVERAL STATES TO MY GPS WITHOUT HAVING TO UPLOAD ALL OF MEXICO?

Yes, since every state is an independent map, therefore you can upload your GPS with the states that you want or the ones you can fit, depending on the GPS model you have because some models have limited memory.

WHAT ARE CONTOUR LINES?

A contoured line is a line that joins all the points that are the same elevation or height in a map. In Geodesy it represents all the contoured lines that materialize a horizontal section in represented relief. The equidistance, which is the difference of altitude between two consecutive curves, is a constant and its value depends on the scale of the map and the importance of relief. In other words, a contoured line gives us the idea of the shape of the land in a bi-dimensional plain, throwing out information as the height and steepness of relief.

WHO IS THE MAP E32 DESIGNED FOR?

The MAP E32 is specially designed for the adventure travelers and for those who want to do activities such as : off-road, 4x4, motorcycle riding, mountain biking, hunting, camping, Engineers, Geologists, Geographers, or a simple traveler who wants to calculate the budget of the trip.

WHY IS THERE A BLUE CIRCLE THAT APPEARS AROUND THE TRIANGLE WHICH SHOWS MY POSITION?

That circle indicates the error margin that our GPS might have, and it changes diameter according to the quality of signal from the satellites. If the signal is good, the circle will be small, and it increases if the signal is not so good; the diameter of the circle is proportional to the margin error that the GPS shows (+ - 10 feet for example) which means that we can be within this area.

HOW CAN I TRANSFER A TRACK FROM ONE GPS TO ANOTHER?

In order to transfer a track from one gps to another, it is necessary first to download the track to mapsource and then from mapsource you can upload the track to another GPS. Some GPS devices have the ability to send waypoints and tracks directly from one device to another through the use of a Bluetooth.

HOW CAN I TRANSFER THE MAPS INSTALLED IN MAPSOURCE TO MY GPS?

Connect the GPS to your PC and turn it on, now open mapsource and with the tool “MAP TOOL” select the states that you wish to upload, make sure they turn color pink, if you wish to upload all of Mexico, use the zoom so that you can see all the country map on the screen and use the tool “MAP TOOL” click and drag a square so you can select all the maps at the same time and on your left side under the tab MAPS you will find the 32 states listed. Now use your tool “SEND TO DEVICE” to transfer the maps to your GPS. This process could take a few minutes.

CAN I EDIT THE MAPS?

You cannot edit nor copy the MAP E32 because it is protected by the laws of Copyright and intellectual property, and any copy, edition or unauthorized distribution of these maps, in full or partial might result in severe criminal or civil penalties and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent according to the law.

HOW OFTEN WILL THERE BE UPGRADES?

We have planned an annual upgrade which will be released within the first two months of every year.
